Welcome to another Firecracker Designs DT Blog Hop....If your just starting out here please trek back to the beginning of the hop and start at Pamelas Page. (Click her name)
If you have come through the entire hop...Congrats you have made it to your last stop! (continue reading for details on cANdY)
So, this months hop was called Atypical Artwork. What that means is we (the DT) were to take stamp sets we already have and use them to create something different. For instance an egg to create a flower petal and such more or less a total new look to a stamp set.

So, I choose to use a set called FRUITCUP (click to go to the store...This set is a must have!) As you can see by the picture I choose the apple leaves as palm tree leaves. I choose the blueberries to make up the base of the palm tree. The orange/lemon slice as my sun and the bunch of grapes as my clouds. I LOVE how this turned out! This was such a fantastic challenge!

Okay, so this set is called "Golden Daffodils" which we all know are yellow...but I had to do other colors. I couldn't resist! Okay so it has been some time since I have posted anything. Things here have been crazy. Between the pregnancy which is now at 19 weeks, YAY and the winter colds and Pnemonia in this house. FCD goes ABC Blog Hippity Hop!

So to all you faithful FCD followers here is my project for this months hop which is ABC (anything but a card)
I chose to do a cd disc cover to give to my daughter and hubby for Valentines Day with a homemade cd inside of course that has all our favorite songs. I like how it turned out and I hope you do as well. The stamp set I chose to use is from the set titled Happy Hour.
I used all stamping up paper incl, chocholate chip, pink and red. I stamped the larger flower 3 separate times on whisper white and used stamping up markers and blender pens to shade it. I used my white gel pen for the dots and the center of the smaller flowers, the stamping up scallop border punch and some leftover chocolate polka dot ribbon from michaels. This was a really simple project and I hope the two of them like it. As well as all of you!

Sample 2, 3 and 4 and another award!

Wow this has been a busy week. I am so glad its the weekend. However, I still have a Thanksgiving dinner to go to today. I think I have gained like 20 pounds already. Im going on a turkey and pie strike when this is over! LOL! Anyway my post today is short and sweet. Also, I recieved another award from Lisa who happens to be on the DT over at FCD with me. I'm so excited to get another award. The best part of all this is in her nomination she says "can you believe she has only been stamping a year?" Why is that significant to me you ask? Well, because in all actuality I have only been stamping for 6 months approx. So, It is a real honor to me that she would compare me to others who have been stamping much longer and to the people that I feel do a fabulous job in creating. So thanks Lisa! I appreciate this.

Where have I been...

I'm sure most of you are wondering that...Well, I'm still here and alive! As you all know my DD was really sick for about 2 weeks. Well in the two week time span that led us to this past weekend. I managed to get a cold, have allergies, a sinus infection, strept throat oh and my Darling Husband gave me pink eye...and not in just one eye like his..no I got it in both...So needless to say I have been a wicked case of a mess! I haven't stamped or done anything in a week or so and hope to be back really soon.

So, I have had this card and totally forgot to post it. But this is my #4 card for the month of October for Firecracker Designs by Pamela.Its a little late since Halloween is now officially over but I haven't had time to stamp anything else. So here ya go:
On a better note. My little ones fever finally broke after a Thursday night ER trip. Come to find out what her DR said was only a virus turned out to be a UTI and Strept Throat possible tonsilitis. We will get the final results on Monday but in the meantime they have given her antibiotics to control what ever is going on. I feel bad though because her throat is so infected that now when she coughs or sneezes (yeah a cold also) blood comes out from her Tonsils. I wish I could just take it all away for her and make her better. Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and don't forget to set your clocks back for daylight savings.

Sorry for the delay in the postings. I haven't had time to "create" anything for we have been really busy the past couple of days and I have now for 2 days been focusing on my child and the 103-104 temperature. Went to the doctors today and they said its just a virus but the fever just doesn't want to kick.
I promise some stamping this weekend and I will be back next week with some stuff for you. Until then, have a wonderful rest of the week and have a fantastic weekend.

Thank you to everyone who left me a comment on the blog candy giveaway. I tried to use random.org to pick a number as I see many other people do but I couldn't get it to work. So I had to pick a number a little differently. I picked my favorite number 13 and then asked my husband to pick...he said 12. Well my toddler had the last say. I asked her if she liked number 12 or 13 and she said "13" and then said "Mommy why you ask me 13" she is to funny some times. So 13 it is. I love stamping because of all the different things you can do with it,cards, boxes, altered items, so fun and everyone is so creative, I pretty much stamp everyday and blog everyday, if not posting then looking. Stamping has become a passion for me, so relaxing.
My list of wants has grown so big I have a folder on my computer of just thigs to buy, just so happens Firecracker is one of them. So hard to choose though, I really like Santapaws and Gifts of Love..guess I am ready to start stamping winter and xmas!

Shoulda, Coulda but Didn't...

I should have left the feeling blue card for todays post. I knew it was going to be a rough day. My husband has been home from work for the past couple of days and its been nice but my daughter gets to used to it. So he has to go to work today and the whiney, non-listening child has emereged. Is it 3pm yet. LOL!
Anyway, I made this card at the beginning of last week but didn't post it because I have been posting all the SCS challenges and didn't want to do more than one post a day. So here you go. Feeling Blue....

Todays challenge at SCS was blue. You could only use 1 sheet of Designer Paper. Blue must be in the color. You could use inks. You had to use eyelets and a ribbon. But, you couldn't use tools. No punches, no cuttlebug, no nestabilities, no nothing. Here's what I came up with. I hope you like it!

"Weather" or Plaid....

Todays challenge over at SCS was "Ways to use it" "PLAID" so I had to partake because I love plaid. Here is my take on the whole challenge.

I used SU paper Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgandy alond with off white or "cream" The Designer Paper is plaid from Michales. I used MFT Stamp Set along with Stazon Black ink. Pop Dots, Ranger Stickles Diamonds, SU buttons with twine and SU ribbon. I hope you like it as much as I do! Have a wonderful Thursday

I challenged myself...

And by that I mean over at SCS they have daily challenges and yesterday and today I finally gave in and decided to do them. So today you get two cards. The first card was yesterdays color challenge and the colors where pretty in pink, black and optional whisper white and this is what I came up with:I have no idea why this is showing up so small but you get the idea.
The second challenge I took part in was a sketch challenge and heres my idea of their sketch:

As I said in an earlier post. I look to Michelle Zindorfs blog for inspiration on how to brayer. If you haven't yet seen her work please go to my sidebar to check out her blog. Her work is friggen amazing. I try some techniques on my own and others I try out her step by step tutorials. Todays card is a CASE (copy and share everything) card from her gallery over at SCS (which is another fantastic place) I chose to try and recreate her card. click HERE to see hers and here is mine:

I used a different leaf set than she did and I added crystals, brads and ribbon to mine but keep the same colors. I think this came out fairly well. Enjoy your day.

Snail Mail....

I just love this set from Papertrey Ink. I was browsing a while back through someones blog and came across a card they had made with this set. I just had to have it. So needless to say it came in and I wasted no time this weekend inking it up. Its so cute and I love the options to change the season around the mailboxes. This was made with SU Bravo Burgandy and Old Olivve along with SU DP. I used Papertreys White for the image area and SU inks. Anyway, Here ya go, Enjoy!

Boy o' Boy do weekends go quickly I can't believe tomorrow is already Sunday. Where does the time go? Okay this card was made for my friend Tony to give to his wife for thier anniversary in a couple of days. All materials used were Stampin up including diamond glitter and the pop dots. The only thing not stamping up was the nestabilities. Have I told you lately how much I just love those things. They are the best! They really finish a card. Anyway, here you go enjoy:

This is my 3rd sample for the month of October using the "Pawsitively Frightening" stamp set from FCD. It's a halloween set but as I'm sure your all are aware, I don't like Halloween to much so I put a little twist on it. It's now Christmas and my favorite time of the year. Here's the pic enjoy and sorry it's looking a little crooked I don't know what is up with my camera today!

No stamping from me today because I wanted to take the time out to acknowledge someones RAK to me. When I found out that I made the Design team over at Firecracker Designs I was thrilled. Not only was I thrilled that as a newbie in the stamp world I made it but, my new friend Shelly of delicatedesignsbyshelly was excited for me as well.
She left me a comment saying how happy she was for me and how I am the one who encouraged her to start her own blog as well. (you can see it on my sidebar) Well she asked for my address said she had something for me. This along with a beautiful card congratulating me and another hand stamped item is what I got in the mail from her. I hardly if ever recieve RAK's from anyone...I'm normally the sender of those so I just wanted to take a minute to thank Shelly from the bottom of my heart. That was so sweet and so kind of her!

So todays post for you is from the big bold birthday stamp set from SU. I just love cupcakes these images are so adorable. Take a look:This card as I said was made with the Big Bold Birthday set from SU, I also used SU glitter diamonds, pop dots, SU chocolate ribbon a white gel pen and nestabilities. Man those things are my favorite they just seem to finish a card. They to me make the card "pop" I think everyone should invest in these things. I of course use mine with my cuttlebug and I used the dots plate for the background. Well, Enjoy.

To brayering that is. Michelle Zindorf is definately and enabler. Wow I love her work and I am really starting to like the work I am doing with the brayer. I wish I was much better but that comes with time. So on that note I will show you my hubbys favorite card that I have made so far using this technique. I hope you enjoy it. Pawsitively Frightening...or is it?

I just love this set called Pawsitively Frightening but I really don't like Halloween so this is a bit challenging for me. I'm really satisfied with the outcome of this card though. Happy World Card Making Day!

Todays post is a little different than normal. Today is all about the "POP" Im sure you wondering what that means. Well I will tell you. Pamela the owner of Firecracker Designs was intrigued with a section in the Paper Craft magazine where they did steps on cards and by that I mean they took a nice plain and simple finished card and then added to it to make it even better or "pop" as some may say. So armed with the intrigue Pamela challenged the design team to do our own "POP" challenge or Step 1 and Step 2.
It works like this....One person made a finished card and then mailed it to the DT member below them on the mailing list. That person then took our card and added step 2 to it to make it really pop. So today we will be hosting a blog hop so you can see for the first time along with the rest of us the finished work.
For example, Pam sent me this finished step one card:
This was hard because her card was perfect the way it was. So, I decided to disassembled it a little bit. I cut photo corners and added a button and some ribbon and then sponged some ink on the edges. So this is Pamelas card finished by Step 2:
Now I was to send my step 1 to Ursula and she was to finish it. Here is my step 1:

So my hubby has a friend at work who's wife is having a birthday soon. She loves sunflowers so I made this card for him to give to her. The image is actually from the ltd catalog foam stamps and the hugs and kisses wording is from an old stampin' up set. Hope she likes it! I do!

An early birthday

So I made this card for my step mother for her birthday comming up. I know she doesn't look on here often so hopefully she wont see it! **crosses fingers**
Anyway, I was in a swap over at scs and recieved a card with this image on it. I like the image so much and wanted to use it so I took it off the original card and added ribbon, stickles and some other stuff to make this my own card. So I can't take credit for the image or the coloring but the rest is mine. Hope you like it and I hope she does to!

Okay so this is my first sample from my october set with Firecracker Designs by Pamela. Halloween is not my thing and I am having a really hard time with cards so tada...I had an idea. I just love this set. I don't know about you but I think it is so adorable! It may be just a little hard on the eyes with all the dots but that is the only way I could really play it up and make it pop. Without them this card was kinda boring. Hope you like it! Wow Can That Lady Brayer....

Okay, so your wondering who I'm talking about because it certainly isn't me. Anyway this was my 4th attempt at brayering and I have to say other than one screw up it turned out pretty well. BUT, I can't take the credit for this card. It was CASED step by step from Michelle Zindorf's tutorial. The only thing I changed was the image, the background setup and added brads. She is amazing! For a Family Member

I wasn't going to post this card due to the nature of its intentions. This card was made for my aunt who is not doing so well fighting cancer. My mother wants to send it to her. She picked the colors, stamp set and wording. I put it together and belive it or not, this was a challenge. I would not have put these colors with this stamp set EVER so it was hard to come up with something. Enjoy! (I have no idea why it is so blurry but you get the jist!

I also wanted to say "FEEL BETTER SOON SHELLY" to Shelly over at delicatedesignsbyshelly. She hurt her back in is kinda laid up right now. So head on over to her blog on the right hand side and show her some love!

Happy Birthday to my Sister...

Okay so in all reality her birthday is tomorrow. But, I will be to busy tomorrow to post this. Though it was already mailed and she probably got it today anyway. If she didn't I sure hope she doesn't stroll onto this blog tonight. LOL!

This card was made by my 3 year old and myself...as you can plainly see in some of the rips and unglued spots. But My little girl wanted to help make Tia's Card so I let her help. I'm sure my sister will appreciate it anyway. Hey it's the thought, right!

But, I can't take credit for the design of this card. It was actually cased completely from Pat Humeniuk who is a stamping up demo. I held a beach swap over at SCS and this (well not this exact) was her card submitted. I LOVED it so much that I duplicated it for my sister.

So as most of you know on the design teams you have to submit so many cards per month using a single stamp set you recieve. I received my set called "Bridge of Thoughts" see it HERE So this was a hard set for me to work with because it isn't generally one I would have picked. I'm more into the floral and such. Some news can be GOOD news!

Okay so I told you all I have some good news. Well here is its...

I tried out for Firecracker Designs by Pamela's DT back in July. I had only been stamping 3 months at that point and figured there in no way I would make the team. Not with so many talented women out there. But low and behold...I did it! Out of 50 applications they choose only 8 people. Can you believe it, I was 1 of 8. I'm so excited I could scream from the rooftops.

So, let this be a huge lesson to all the "NEWBIE" stampers who feel they aren't ready or aren't talented enough or don't have enough experience to tryout. GO FOR IT! You have nothing to loose and the results in the end just might shock you enough to pee your pants. Ha Ha!

So, I'm sure you wanna see my submissions since I haven't been able to post them until today. Scroll down and check them out. But...be aware, I still don't know how I even made it looking at some of the other submissions. WOW! Well here you go enjoy.

I thought my popcorn cards was my favorite until I created this one today. I just LOVE it. I love everything about it which is weird in a way because I normally don't like any of my creations.

Black and White

This card was for a Card swap over on SCS that I am hosting called "Black and White w/ Punch"
The idea was to use only black and white paper only and you could have only one piece of color somewhere either in an eyelet, brad, ribbon or one color on one stamped image. This was my take on it. I used a green button for my one color. Everything for this card is SU products except the ribbon.

Two for TwoDay!

Today there are two cards. The first one was made for my mother who has a friend who is ill. The layout on this one was cased from SCS and credit was given to her in my gallery there.

The second card I think is a disaster. It was my first attempt to sew on a card. Well I need A LOT more practice. LOL. But my Darling Husband said, "oh honey it looks great. It looks like it is supposed to be all crooked." Yeah that is a line of horse crap...but props to him for trying to make me feel better. I just love him sometimes!

Anyway, I am not going to write any specs for this one because they are very plain and simple.

Happy Birthday in Heaven!

Today is a happy and sad day for me. Its my Dad's 59th birthday...But, he isn't here to celebrate it with me! He is having his party in Heaven this year! It's been 4 months now since he suddenly left and everyone says the days get easier. I'm hoping they are right because mine are getting sadder!

Anyway on another note that isn't so sad, it's beautiful outside today and I think the daughter and I are going to enjoy the pool. So I need to hurry this post up she is impatient!

Good Morning Everyone! So here is my post for today. This one is "Latte Love" (I'm cracking myself up with these original titles) So anyway, I love the colors on this card. I don't know why but I'm addicted to green pink and browns lately. So as far as the materials for this one, here ya go:

Number 2 and Going Out

Okay so considering that it is 90 something degrees out and its early still. I'm posting this last one for today and then I am going to lay out by the pool because this "Casper" needs a tan. I do have to more to show you but I will post them tomorrow. Today is Sunday and in this house that means "Family Day" so I am getting yelled at to come and swim.

Good Morning Everyone! Its Humpday...Only 2 more days left until the weekend.

Anyway, I figured I'd post these 2 cards on here before I got up and out for the day. The first one is the "waterfall" card and I just love it. I will eventually start writing the recipies along with the cards I post but for right now...I'm showing you all the "beginner" made cards!

The second card is the Garden Flower Hostess Only stamp from SU's current catalog. If you want one of these beauties you need to have a party by August 7th and qualify for it otherwise....Its GONE! As well as the Hodgepodge Hardware that is shown on this. There is alot of stuff going....Can't wait to see whats comming! Stay tuned and I will fill you in.

Happy Almost Birthday

Okay so.....I made myself an early Birthday Card. Yeah I know its tomorrow but I will be to busy then. So another year has gone by. Where does the time go? It seems like yesterday I was in school wishing to be an "adult." Boy o' Boy does time fly. Now I have the little girl that wants so badly to be the "big" girl.
Anyway....I just wanted to post these to cards really quickly before I head off to enjoy the day. I'm really sorry about the crappy lighting on them. I have to fix that. BTW...does anyone know how you make a watermark for your cards and how to add a fancy signature? Please share your knowledge!

It never ends....

Okay...to all my faithful followers..(lol) I'm sorry this has now been a week without updates or pics. I started off this week with a wonderful overnight stay at the hospital due to vertigo. Fluid behind the eardrum and it made me so severely sick I could not stop vomiting from the spinning. What a horrible feeling. But as the week has moved on the nausea and dizziness has slowed down a lot. Hopefully in another week it should be gone.

So in all this action, I haven't gotten to post any of my cards. I promise though that tomorrow you will start seeing them. They are on the camera and ready to upload. Now as long as I can figure this all out we should be up and rolling.

Welcome to My Blog

Well I did it. I finally took the plunge into blogger world. Why you ask? Because I want to be able to keep up in the "stamping world." I have been a scrapbooker for a couple of years and was intoduced to stamping in February of this year and completely fell in love. I find that stamping and card making is my piece of sanity, Hence the title of my blog.

I became a demo for Stampin up in April of this year and consider myself just a hobby demo. But, I also hold 2 stamp classes a month here at my house. I love doing it. Though I am new to the stamp world I have learned quite a bit in the couple months and I love sharing my ambitions and passions with others. I love watching people fall in love with stamping as fast as I did. Its wonderful.

I also joined splitcoaststampers.com and have already met some wonderful and highly talented people on there. The added bonus is learning some fantastic new techniques.

So what are my goals you ask? I'm hoping to master my talent in cardmaking and stamping to eventually become a Design Team Member (aka DT) for some of my favorite companies.
It going to be a long haul and hard work. But I am ready for it. Hopefully someday you will see my name in the spotlights in magazines and on company websites! Until then its just a matter of perfecting my skill.
