FCD presents ATYPICAL ARTWORK!

Welcome to another Firecracker Designs DT Blog Hop....If your just starting out here please trek back to the beginning of the hop and start at Pamelas Page. (Click her name)
If you have come through the entire hop...Congrats you have made it to your last stop! (continue reading for details on cANdY)
So, this months hop was called Atypical Artwork. What that means is we (the DT) were to take stamp sets we already have and use them to create something different. For instance an egg to create a flower petal and such more or less a total new look to a stamp set.

So, I choose to use a set called FRUITCUP (click to go to the store...This set is a must have!) As you can see by the picture I choose the apple leaves as palm tree leaves. I choose the blueberries to make up the base of the palm tree. The orange/lemon slice as my sun and the bunch of grapes as my clouds. I LOVE how this turned out! This was such a fantastic challenge!
Here is my card....

I hope you enjoyed your way through our hop this month and hope to see you again next month....
As for the CANDY, I am the last stop on your journey...you "MUST" leave a comment here on my page telling me "Who's card you liked in the hop..and why?" By doing so on Wednesday, April 29th at 8pm a comment will be randomly selected to win the candy of the month...What is it you ask???? It's a surprise you'll love if your the winner! Almost like Christmas in April! Good Luck and Have a Fantastic weekend!
Blessings,

I never would have thought to use the blueberry and apple leaves to make a palm tree, but it really works! Very clever, Sherri! The grapes make very cool clouds, too! Nice work! :o)

WOW, what an awesome blog hop! All of you are SO creative. I love all the ideas I got for using stamps in atypical ways. Also, thanks for the chance to win some great stamps from FCD!

Well that is not a fair question! All the cards were great. If I had to pick one, I would have to say Libby's - I am a sucker for the flourishes, the butterfly and the colors.
Thanks for the fun!

Oh ladies it is so unfair to ask what card is our fave, they are all so great! But I will have to go with Libbys. Ursula and Pamela can tell you that I try to make a butterfly out of every FCD set I get. So of course I was happily surprised to see Libbys butterfly card. Of course it has been so long since I got a new FCD set so I am throwing my name in for the drawing!!
Thanks!!

A faavorite! WAAAH! I can't decide! I love everyone's and I have a few of the sets but now I want them all! I guess I'll chose your card. What novel ideas. And Oamela's cause I love all the colors. But the butterfly and flower in a pot, them too! Now that I wrote a book, I'll quit!

I forgot to tell who my favorite card was. First of all, they were all awesome!! Great work for everyone! My favorite was Libby's caterpillar card...it was just so darn cute!!

I love Libby's elegant butterfly card. The curvaceous lines of the frame and the Cuttlebug script, as well as coordinating shades of blue, are a perfect counterpoint to the gently curving wings of the butterfly in its complimentary shade of orange. I also think the three brads are strategically placed underneath the verse, focus attention on the small script that might otherwise be over shadowed by the strong lines and colors of the other decorative elements. Well done.

Sweet card! My fave on the hop was Heather's card -- a stunning color combination and it still amazes me that the gals thought to turn an ornament into a flower!!

All the cards are so creative. I love the butterfly card and the sunflower card is so cheerful looking it made me smile just looking at it.
I rarely use my stamps for other than what they are. Guess it is time to "step out of the box".

Another amazing "Atypical" piece of art. Wow...I truly have been inspired by all of you. I love the ways you have used the fruit. I love that sunshine!!

How do I pick my favorite when I loved all of them??? Okay, I guess my all time favorite was the caterpillar. It was simple but so cute. I only choose it because I have a set of stamps with an Easter Egg and I am excited to try to make a caterpillar. This does not mean that I didn't love all of the artwork. I now see lots of sets that I need to save the money to buy from FCD.

Thanks everyone,

This is adorable, and what a great idea to think of new ways to use stamps. I wish my brain worked like that. Maybe I should challenge myself to find stamps I can use a different way.
I think my fav was the sucker tree. I forget who's it was, but I absolutely love the splat background she did, and using chicken's feet for sucker sticks, genious. The only bad part of this hop is that it was too short, cuz all y'all had some amazing ideas.
